“Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9).
“For with the heart a person believes and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms his salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
Many people believe that when you accept Jesus as your Savior and do what this scripture says, that you have bought your ticket to heaven and that is all there is to it. It is just the beginning of a life long journey to heaven.
There is so much more to it than that. Accepting Jesus as Savior is a divine encounter that is truly life-changing. I can promise you that if you ever really, really meet Him; you will NEVER be the same. Just saying the words doesn’t mean you actually met Him.
Everybody has heard that Jesus died on the Cross, but the real victory is that He arose bodily from the grave. His body is not in that grave. He is a real Person. He interacts with His people all the time.
It all happens in the HEART. When He touches your HEART you are forever changed. It is at this point, when the real journey begins. It’s just you and the Lord walking together for the rest of your days. I can tell you without hesitation, that a real walk with Jesus is the most exciting way to live your life.
It is a life full of hope, full of purpose, full of joy and full of victories. Like any other life, it has its trials and tribulations, BUT the difference is that with Jesus on your side, you are assured of victory every time; IF you believe.
If you have said this prayer in the past but you know in your heart that you really don’t know Him. You can truly meet Him today, right now. Pray this prayer, and mean it in your HEART:
“Father I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I am a sinner. I ask for You to forgive me and cleanse me from all my sin. Lord Jesus, I invite You to come into My heart right now. Be the center of my life. Be the Lord of my life. I give my life to You right now and ask that You use me for Your purposes. Wash me in Your Blood and make me white as snow. Thank You for saving me!”
If you meant this prayer, then He came into Your heart and You will know it. If still aren’t sure, find a believer to introduce you to Him. He wants it so much more than you realize…He truly has a wonderful plan for your life!
Blessings everyone…
