“But you beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit; Guard and keep yourselves in the love of God; expect and patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)–[which will bring you] unto life eternal.” (Jude 20-21)
This scripture is a key to staying close to God in these last days. Praying in the Holy Spirit, which is letting the Holy Spirit pray through you to God, His perfect will for your life and any situation you are struggling with.
We are also to guard and keep ourselves in the love of God. This one is a little harder. Life is full of opportunities to get mad and hold grudges. The Lord wants us to let it go so we can stay close to Him. Holding grudges is really strife and where there is strife there is every evil work.
Finally, we are to wait for the Lord Jesus expectantly; like He is coming any moment. Think about it. How would you act today if you knew that Jesus was coming to get His Bride? Would you still want to hold on to the things you know displease Him? Would you still hold on to grudges against people who have hurt you?
Let the things of this world go and start to establish a more intimate relationship with Him. It is the safest place to be these days…
