“There is therefore now, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)
This is a great promise and there is even a tune to sing it to! The key here is “those who are IN Christ Jesus.” The Amplified Bible says “who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh.” Those who have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ are going to walk after the Spirit.
If you say, “there is therefore now no condemnation on me” but you live like the rest of the world, you are not living in Christ Jesus and this scripture is not going to work for you.
Salvation is a free gift to all men, but to obtain the promises, and there are some mighty promises in the Word, conditions have to be met. To attain these great promises, a passion for God and His ways and precepts must be present.
Jesus said to be hot or cold, but not lukewarm. There is nothing better than a steaming hot cup of coffee. What happens if you take a big sip of lukewarm or tepid coffee? Yuk! You spit it out and get a fresh cup! Jesus said I will spew you out of my mouth if you are lukewarm.
Beloved, let the fire of the Holy Spirit get you steaming hot for the things of God! There is a whole world of possibilities waiting for you!
