“Receive my instruction in preference to striving for silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold. For skillful and godly Wisdom is better than rubies or pearls, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.” (Proverbs 8:10-11)
Solomon pursued wisdom at the start of his reign as king of Israel. He knew he wasn’t equipped in his own strength and wisdom. He knew he needed God’s wisdom to reign effectively.
And when he pursued it, He got so much wisdom, he has been known down through the ages as the wisest of all kings of the earth. Even today we associate wisdom with King Solomon.
And if you read in I Kings, you’ll see that because Solomon sought God’s wisdom FIRST, he was given all the silver and gold he could handle. That is something to think about!
Jesus said it, “seek ye first the kingdom of God and My righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” God blesses obedience. He rewards those who diligently seek Him out.
The closer you draw to God, the less important the things of this world become. Like the song says:
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful Face
And the things of this earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace”
Blessings everyone…
