“The Lord is my chosen and assigned portion, my cup; You hold and maintain my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; yea, I have a good heritage.” (Psalm 16:5-6)
What a comforting place to be when the Lord is our chosen and assigned portion! When we put our lives and our trust in Him, He is faithful to hold and maintain our lot in life. He ensures the lines are fallen to us in pleasant places. What does this mean?
It means that the circumstances in our lives lead to pleasant places, pleasant circumstances. Security in our position in life. Sure, there are trials and tribulations to be encountered, but still we have the assurance, that we come out into the pleasant places stronger!
Like Psalm 91 says, “a thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand on my right hand, but it shall not come near me. Only with my eyes will I behold the reward of the wicked.”
When the Lord is your portion, you can be confident that you will always come out on top!
