Be His Disciple

“And behold, a man from the crowd shouted out, Master, I implore You to look at my son, for he is my only child. And behold, a spirit seizes him and suddenly he cries out; it convulses him so that he foams at the mouth; and he is sorely shattered, and it will scarcely leave him. And I implored Your disciples to drive it out, but they could not.

Jesus answered, O faithless generation! Until when and how long am I to be with you? Bring your son here to Me. And even while he was coming the demon threw him down and convulsed him. But Jesus censured and severely rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the child and restored him to his father. And all were astounded at the evidence of God’s mighty power and His majesty and magnificence.” (Luke 9:38-43)

In today’s world, relatively few people even acknowledge the devil exists, which is fine with him because if he is hidden he can work his evil undetected. Over and over and over again Jesus cast devils out of people. As disciples of Jesus Christ, He expects us to be able to do the same thing when people come to us for help.

We need to learn how to walk in the power that He did because that is one of the primary reasons He died. It’s not just a ticket to heaven when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. We accept everything He did on the Cross. We not only have the power and authority to cast out devils and heal the sick, He expects us to.

All it takes is a decision to start doing it and a little bit of faith and God will bring opportunities for you to do the same works He did. There is nothing more exciting and heartwarming than to see a person’s countenance change from darkness to light right before your eyes. Be a disciple that Jesus can use to help others today.

Blessings everyone…
