[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the deep and intimate knowledge of Him. By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set apart ones).” (Ephesians 1:17-18)
This is an invitation to explore the depths of the Father through HIs Son Jesus Christ. The finished work Jesus did on the Cross paves the way for us to go to the God of the Universe and explore the mysteries and secrets of His vast knowledge. Knowledge that He wants to share with you and me.
How do we get to this place? Through deep and intimate knowledge of Him. How do we get this knowledge? By spending time with Him. Every day. Line upon line; precept upon precept; here a little and there a little. Until one day you are in that special place of intimacy. A place where your heart is flooded with light and you know and understand the hope to which He has called you.
It starts with a decision. A choice to meet with Him. Talk to Him, listen for Him. Just sit in the peacefulness of His Presence. This place becomes a refuge and a sanctuary. A place that may be the only beautiful thing in your life. This place is freedom in the middle of bondage or slavery. I don’t care where you are at: on top of the world with all the money and fame in the world or in the gutter addicted to the vilest drug. If you just reach out your hand and say “Jesus help me” He will come. He will come and if you follow Him, He will lead you right to this place. He came for me and He will come for you too.
