Perilous Times–Awesome God!

“This mystery was never disclosed to human beings in past generations as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles (consecrated messengers) and prophets by the Holy Spirit.   It is this: that the Gentiles are now to be fellow heirs with the Jews, members of the same body and joint partakers sharing in the same divine promise in Christ through their acceptance of the glad tidings (the Gospel).” (Ephesians 3:5-6)

At this moment, all over the world, there is an incredible amount of hatred and persecution of both Jews and Christians. Horrible atrocities are being perpetrated on Christians in Iraq and the violent hatred against Jews coming out of Europe hasn’t been seen since before Hitler came to power.  The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas is on every TV station around the world, stirring up more and more hatred around the world.  The world seems upside down and topsy turvy!

I was pondering on this and I realized after reading this scripture that there is a parallel of the persecution of the Jews and the persecution of Christians. As Gentiles, you and I are “grafted” into the Jewish covenant with God. In other words, we are all in this thing together! It may be across the ocean right now, but we are seeing it begin here in America.

As believers in Jesus Christ we have the power and authority in prayer to really change things. II Chronicles 7:14 says that if we” turn from our wicked ways and pray, then God will heal our land.” The days we are living in are indeed perilous and fearful, just as Jesus said they would be. To be alive today watching prophecies being fulfilled before our very eyes is exciting and scary at the same time. But we are told by Jesus over and over to fear not.

Now more than ever we must draw closer and closer to Him so that our lives are “hidden with Christ in God.” If you are a believer, begin to ask the Lord what YOU need to do to prepare for the coming days–in every area of your life.

I know this isn’t a “warm fuzzy” devotional today, but this is His show, so what He wants posted is what I put out here. “Lord let there be at least one person who takes this and runs with it! I ask in Jesus’ Name.

Blessings everyone…
