“And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), God brought to life together with Christ, having freely forgiven us all our transgressions, having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us. This note with its regulations, decrees, and demands He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to His Cross. God disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in the Cross.” (Colossians 2:13-15)
Everyone ever born, was born into a sinful nature. That nature is against God and the things of God from the get go. Children have to be trained to be good. What happens when a child is never disciplined and left to live without training? They become miserable human beings. They become a danger to society in many cases.
We are born with a note hanging over our head. A legal decree and demand of sin. It is this legal note, this decree that Satan uses to keep us in bondage to sin..until we accept what Jesus did on the Cross. When we receive Jesus as Savior, He tears up that note in the Presence of His Father…who is the Judge of the Universe.
And even though we are guilty of even the vilest of sins, they are ALL wiped away with the Blood of Jesus. The song Amazing Grace is so very true.
“Amazing grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me; I once was lost, but now I’m found; was blind but now I see.”
God completely dismantled Satan’s ability to use our sins against us through the Precious Blood of Jesus. The Word says “God disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them.”
We have been acquitted of ALL guilt through Jesus Christ! When we begin to live our lives with Him, we are no longer subject to condemnation but we truly have liberty. We have liberty even in the middle of oppression. And no one can take it away from us!
