“In everything I (Paul) have pointed out to you by example that, by working diligently in this manner, we ought to assist the weak, being mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, It is more blessed (makes one happier and more to be envied) to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)
I saw a video clip of a well-known pastor say of praise and worship to God that “it’s not about God, it’s about you, God just wants you to be happy.” The Word of God refutes this belief. It’s not about us, it’s about Jesus.
Everything we do in our day-to-day lives should be all about giving glory and honor to Jesus Christ. And when we go to His house to worship, we have to go with the attitude of “how can I bless the Lord today?
True Christianity, in its purest form never seeks self-gratification. It ALWAYS seeks the benefit of others and it seeks only to glorify Jesus Christ. To lift Jesus higher, will draw all men unto Him. To God, it is all about the souls of men. There is a fierce war raging for the souls of men. God wants as many as He can get into His kingdom and Satan wants to keep them away and to steal as many away from God as He can.
Beloved, I encourage you to consider the next time you go into the house of the Lord to worship that it is about God. It’s all about Jesus. Seek to lift Jesus higher through your praise and worship..it will bless you a whole lot more to give Him glory than to seek your own needs and wants. Give that time to Him because it truly is all about Jesus!
