That Precious Peace

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest, [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I AM gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good–not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne,” (Matthew 11:28-30)

The biggest difference between religion and a personal relationship with the Lord is the level of peace in your life. Jesus leads you while religion drives you. Religion is busy, busy while the relationship with Him is productive. Religion wears you down while relationship refreshes and strengthens you.

It has happened to everyone at one time or another. We get busy with the “things” of the Lord and completely lose track of that all-important RELATIONSHIP! I know I am guilty of substituting the “things” I do for the kingdom for my personal fellowship time with Him…let me tell you, you can get real dry real quick!

Go back to what Jesus said: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden. I will give you rest. The precious peace that passes all understanding is found in this rest. In His presence there is peace like a river. Drink until you can’t drink anymore!

If you are at the place where the “things of God” have become burdensome, bring the burden to Jesus and let Him direct your path from now on. When you lay it down and take in His peace and HIS yoke on you, your whole world will change!

Blessings everyone…
