“And a highway shall be there, and a way; and it shall be called the Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for the redeemed; the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way. No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come upon it; they shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk on it. And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing, and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” (Isaiah 35:8-10)
Holy. A word we associate with God and a word we use to worship Him. A word we use to describe a few people we think are exceptionally close to God. But the word holy means more than that. It means to set apart for God’s purposes. When we come into the Kingdom of God through Jesus Christ, we have been redeemed. We have been purchased by God through His Blood. When we purchase something it becomes ours to do with as we want right? The same thing applies to our redemption. God now owns us and He wants to prepare us for His purposes. This is a process that starts right away after we are born again.
As we allow God to clean us up and clean us out of all the past hurts and anger. As our relationship with Him becomes more intimate, we begin to take on His characteristics in our daily lives. This is the state of being holy. It is a state where God can begin to use us for His purposes on earth. What are His purposes? Souls. He wants to use you and me to bring people into the Kingdom. He loves people. Nobody can comprehend how much He loves people and wants everyone to come to Him.
When we get to that state of holiness, we are then on the Holy Way. A place where there is victory over all the power of the devil. Notice in this scripture “No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come upon it; they shall not be found there.” On this highway, there is complete victory.
It says “the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way.” The state of holiness keeps us from going of after doctrines of devils and false teachings. When we are submitted to God’s cleansing process we can be confident that we are on the right track.
The best news is that this Holy Way leads us straight to Him. We are promised this: “And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing, and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” The Father has only good things waiting for those who love Him. Yes, it’s difficult and even scary here on earth these days, yet if we get on the Holy Highway, we can look past the evil all around us and see the wonderful times ahead. Jesus did it. He looked past the pain of the Cross into eternity where everlasting joy is found.
No matter where you are in life, you can at any time move towards Him and He will begin to prepare you for that Holy Way where complete victory can be yours. It takes one decision and step in His direction…
Don’t know Him?
