“For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].” (Philippians 4:8)
There is absolutely NOTHING negative about God. Even the fear of the Lord is positive. It means reverence, and worship and awe. His motives are positive, they are good towards all people. His love is limitless towards us. He acknowledges our frail bodies and what we have to deal with down here. He doesn’t condone our sin, but His grace is plentiful to cover it with His own Blood.
When I look around at all the other “gods” out there in the world today, only my God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob: Jehovah–Jesus Christ, is positive. He doesn’t beat us over the head with the Law, rather He convicts with peace of the Holy Spirit. Even conviction is positive! Even His correction and discipline is full of love!
When God looks at us, He’s not looking at our negatives. He always looks at the positives. Because He IS love, all of the attributes of the God love flow towards us.

LOVE TAKES NO ACCOUNT OF EVIL DONE TO IT — GOD COVERS IT IN BLOOD
So many times people have an image of a God who is glowering down at them in anger for every little infraction. It’s just not true. God invented FAITH. God looks at every human being with the eyes of faith. Faith sees something entirely different that what we look like now. If you let Him, He will turn all your negatives into positives.
