“Blessed is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive the victor’s crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12)
Every believer has had times of trials and temptations. These times are necessary to make us strong. Iron sharpens iron. Friction can start a fire. The Bible says for us to “count it all joy when we encounter fiery trials and temptations.” Why? Because God is at work on us!
Have you ever watched someone make ceramics? What beautiful pieces people come up with! What makes these pieces come out so beautiful? The KILN. The pieces have to be put into the fire of the KILN oven for a certain amount of time to get strong enough to be painted and polished and handled.
As believers, we aren’t constantly in the fire, but as James says here, “blessed is the man who is patient under trial and temptation.” There are different areas that God wants to perfect throughout our lives and sometimes we have to be tried in the fire in order for Him to perfect us. You can’t know how strong something is until you test it. It has to be proven.
When we are patient during these times and still trust Him and still love Him and are still committed to Him, there is a wonderful blessing from Him on the other side of it. The blessing of a closer relationship with Him and the knowledge that our faith has just increased several degrees!
And the most wonderful blessing of all is the Victor’s Crown of Life that God has for those of us who overcome! People of God, Jesus is about ready to step out on that cloud and when the trumpet calls, the Bride of Christ will meet Him in the air! So as you look around at the ugly evil all around you, think about that Victor’s Crown…it is waiting just as surely as He is coming!
Blessings everyone…
