“For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk not by sight or appearance. Yes we have confident and hopeful courage and are pleased rather to be away from home out of the body and be at home with the Lord.” (II Corinthians 5:7-8)
Christians are supposed to be people of faith. We live our lives in a quiet confidence in God’s great salvation, which includes benefits to every area of our lives. Our health, our money, our family relationships, our friendship and most importantly, our ministries. Every believer in Jesus Christ has a ministry whether we realize it or not. True Christianity always looks outward, not inward. We are always looking for opportunities to show others the love of God.
Great faith comes by building a strong relationship with the Lord. This relationship is the very core of our faith. The more intimately we know Him, the stronger our faith is. Strong faith can move mountains. Strong faith can withstand the worst of times. Strong faith cannot be moved by perilous times.
Great faith is obvious to those who don’t know God personally. It is peculiar and totally misunderstood. In times of prosperity and peace, great faith is laughed and jeered at by the lost. But, in perilous times, where there is no peace, no stability and danger is everywhere–great faith is a beacon of light that draws people closer to God.
Beloved of God, don’t get weary in well-doing. Keep building your relationship with the Lord, keep praying for people, keep looking for opportunities to help people. Your great faith is going to be a light for people to find Him in these perilous times and it is your eternal hope!
