“Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah!” (Psalm 24:10)
“At once I came under the Holy Spirit’s power, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with One seated on the throne! And He Who sat there appeared like the crystalline brightness of jasper and the fiery sardius, and encircling the throne was a halo that looked like a rainbow of emerald….Out of the throne came flashes of lightning and rumblings and peals of thunder, and in front of the throne, seven blazing torches burned, which are the seven Spirits of God [the sevenfold Holy Spirit].” (Revelation 4:2-3 & 5)
“I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all). (Revelation 1:8)
“I AM the First and the Last, and the Ever-living One [I AM living in eternity of the eternities], I died, but see, I AM alive forevermore: and I possess the keys of death and Hell (the realm of the dead).” (Revelation 1:17-18)
“Then I saw another angel flying in midair, with an eternal Gospel (good news) to tell to the inhabitants of the earth, to every race and tribe and language and people. And he cried with a mighty voice, Revere God and give Him glory, honor and praise in worship, for the hour of His judgment has arrived. Fall down before Him; pay Him homage and adoration and worship Him Who created heaven and earth, the sea the springs of water.” (Revelation 14:6-7)
The book of Revelation is so full of the glory of the Lord! If you are looking for scripture to praise God with, go to Revelation. Everything in God’s creation gives praise and glory back to Him. All of Creation speaks of His wondrous works. The stars, the moon, and sun, the oceans–everything. The praises of God reverberate throughout the universe and throughout eternity twenty-four-seven. Guess what His absolute favorite song is? It is the song of the redeemed giving praise to Him for their salvation! He loves heartfelt, passionate praise from His redeemed children.
The book of Revelation is an odd book. Many people don’t understand it and I know I didn’t read it too often throughout my walk with the Lord. However, I am seeing that this book is full of good news! It paints a beautiful picture of the future of the child of God that hints at the wondrous things He has stored up for each one of us. He loves us so much, that our hearts would break if we understood it fully. The Word says that “eyes have not seen, nor ears have heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, the things that God has laid up for those who love Him.”
The closer we get to the end of the book, the more excited the people of God should be getting. It’s harvest time now, but soon we will all be sitting at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, finally seeing our precious Lord face to face! That is something to shout Hallelujah about! There is a stirring among the people of God, the ones who love and hope for His appearing. We know He is near…very, very near. This knowledge gives us the motivation to get out into the highways and byways of our worlds and tell people about Jesus! Tell them about the wonderful gift of salvation He bought for them. Tell them that there is someone who loves them beyond measure.
