“If we accept the testimony of men [if we are willing to take human authority], the testimony of God is greater (of stronger authority), for this is the testimony of God, even the witness which He has borne regarding His Son.
He who believes in the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in and relies on Him] has the testimony within himself. He who does not believe God in this way has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed (put his faith in) the testimony that God has borne regarding His Son.
And this is that testimony, that evidence; God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not have that life.” (I John 5:9-12)
I realize that in this day and age people are abandoning the Bible and the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and Jesus Christ and are choosing to not believe in God at all or are embracing another religion altogether. Jesus said in the last days, people won’t tolerate sound doctrine anymore and we are seeing that happen all over the world–even mainline denominations of Christianity are falling away and embracing false teachings–including Islam.
It all boils down to one choice: do I believe in the Son of God or not? The Word of God testifies of the Son, but if people don’t believe the Word of God then what hope do they have of ever finding the truth? The Truth WILL come out one day. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. The question then is this: Do I bow and confess now in the Age of Grace or at the end of the age when it is too late and I’m staring into a lake of fire?
Whatever our choice, let God be true and every man a liar. He has done His part, He has given everything for you and me to have eternal life. He will not force anyone to believe in Him or to love Him. Our eternal destination is solely in our hands. Believe it or not…
