You Are Important Too!

“For God is not unrighteousness to forget or overlook your labor and the love which you have shown for His Name’s sake in ministering to the needs of the saints, as you still do. But we do strongly and earnestly desire for each of you to show the same diligence and sincerity in realizing and enjoying the full assurance and development of your hope until the end.” (Hebrews 6:10-11)

So many times we get caught up in helping this one and that one with their problems that we neglect our own spiritual life. There is always a balance in everything, but finding that balance is a real challenge sometimes!

This happens especially to people in leadership of a church group. Leadership is hard work, but God wants YOU to know that you are important to Him too! What does Jesus tell us? “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” But isn’t doing church work seeking the kingdom?

Jesus said the “kingdom of God is within you.” It’s personal. It’s personal time spent with Him that empowers and infuses you to do the work of the ministry! Don’t substitute ministry duties for relationship time with Him…that’s where burn out begins.

Take an evening or two to start with and just get alone with Him in whatever way you want to. Singing praise songs or dancing or just sitting quietly. Just start doing it and you will be amazed at how much energy you have to work in those harvest fields!

Remember: Your well-being if very important to Him. Bring your weary self to Him as often as you need and let Him refresh you with His presence and His Spirit!

Blessings everyone…
