The Father’s Business

“Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority has been given to Me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I AM with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28;18)

This is commonly known as “the great commission” and it is our mandate, but it is also much more than that.  The key word is AUTHORITY.  Jesus took back the authority and dominion that Adam lost so long ago.  And because He did, He delegated that same authority to all believers down through the ages.  Our marching orders are to go into all nations and make disciples.

Discipleship is much more than leading someone in the prayer of salvation.  It’s a birth.  That person is now born-again.  A mother doesn’t have a baby and then say “OK, son, do the best you can now.”  No she is in it for the long haul!  So too should we be with someone we win to Jesus.

What does this entail?  A phone call, an email, a visit.  Going to lunch or getting together for a Bible Study or a special event at church.  A listening ear is invaluable.  A prayer partner and intercessor.  Little babies are precious to their parents and so are baby Christians to the Lord!  We are His hands and feet.  We are His love with skin on.

What if I have never led someone to Jesus?  Start making yourself available to Him to use.  Sooner or later, He will give you an opportunity.  Follow the Holy Spirit because He knows everyone’s heart.  Just be available.  That’s all He wants.

Why is this important?  Because God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him will not perish but have everlasting life.  God LOVES, LOVES, LOVES people!  He needs each one of us to be that vessel He can use to bring someone into His Kingdom.  Time is running out…as Christians we need to be about our Father’s business and His business is SOULS..

Blessings everyone…
