True Love

me-jesus

“It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and they are life.

But still some of you fail to believe and trust and have faith. For Jesus knew from the first who did not believe and had no faith and who would betray Him and be false to Him.

And He said, This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless it is granted him [unless he is enabled to do so] by the Father. After this, many of His disciples drew back (returned to their old associations) and no longer accompanied Him.” (John 6:63-66)

The Bible says that those who seek to worship God the Father must do so in Spirit and in truth. What motivates people to seek after God like this? When a person meets Jesus, I mean really meets Him–they will fall in love with Him. He is that unforgettable!

In this passage, Jesus was really laying it out there for those who claimed to be followers. His teaching was hard to swallow and people choked on it. He had to get the ones who really loved Him and by teaching these hard truths, that is exactly what happened.

Anybody can join the Army, but very few are Green Berets! To be a Green Beret they have to want it really bad because it is very hard and demanding to be a Green Beret.  Entering the Kingdom of God is a hard thing. The Bible says that many are called but few are chosen. How bad do you want Him? How much do you love Him?

Even though all these men and women were following Jesus around, watching the miracles and power of God demonstrated before their very eyes…many still failed to believe in Him or trust Him. They just didn’t believe it. Like today. People just don’t believe it.

Those disciples that kept on following Jesus received the victor’s crown when they died. Almost all of them were martyred. True love is willing to do that. They went all the way for Jesus. My prayer is always,”Lord help me to go all the way for You!

Blessings everyone…
