“I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, he who does not enter by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way is a thief and a robber, but he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. The watchman opens the door for this man, and the sheep listen to the voice and heed it, and he calls his own sheep by name and brings (leads) them out.
When he has brought his own sheep outside, he walks on before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. They will never [on any account] follow a stranger, but will run away from him because they do not know the voice of strangers or recognize their call.
So Jesus said again, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that I Myself am the Door for the sheep….I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out and find pasture.” (John 10:1-5, 7, 9)
The world is full of false teachings, false gospels, and false prophets. Godless religions are given validity by the world in spite of their obvious bad fruit. But God always has a remnant of true believers, those who KNOW His voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.
It all goes back to that relationship. Many churches today have invited the world into their sanctuaries. The worldly ways are considered normal now. Now we can have “greasy grace”. God has become Santa Claus. The things the Bible says are sins are OK now because grace covers it. No true repentance necessary folks! Who needs a relationship with Jesus, when all we want is a hookup? We want to be friends with benefits. It’s all about me, me, me. We want the benefits, but not the responsibility to pursue any relationship.
The god of this world is in the business of deception. The Bible is clear. God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man sows, that is what he will reap. Grace goes hand in hand with REPENTANCE. And repentance means to turn and go in the opposite direction towards a Holy God. Grace is not a license to sin! God observes the motives of the heart. A person who thinks that they can go out on Saturday night like the rest of the world and party and hook up with whoever and then go to church on Sunday and praise God with the best of them is deceiving themselves.
It’s not what church you go to, or how much scripture you have memorized or how loudly you sing in the choir or even how often you go to church. The question is, how do you spend your time alone when no one is watching? Do you have a special time of the day to spend with Him? Do you have a special place picked out to spend that time? Do you think about Him throughout the day? Do you include Him in your decisions in everyday life? Is He an part of your life or do you just take Him out on Sundays as a showpiece to say to the world “I’m a Christian?”
Don’t be deceived people, these days are evil. Satan has unleashed waves of evil against all mankind. The people of God must, absolutely MUST establish an intimate relationship with Him or else they will be swept away in the godless world system being established right now. Jesus is saying to the church, wake up! Strengthen what remains and get back into the sheepfold.
It starts with repentance. Repent for ignoring Him, repent for living like the world, repent, repent, repent! Repentance wipes the slate clean. Grace covers REPENTANCE. Repentance gives you a new beginning with God. Repent and get clean and begin to establish that relationship with Him that is so crucial in these days.
