The Name of Jesus

“Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes that make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, but stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave) in that He  became like men and was born a human being.

And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself still further and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!  Therefore because He stooped so low, God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:6-10)

The name of Jesus is spoken in worship, in authority and even in profanity.  Have you ever wondered why people use Jesus’ name in profanity?  Because He is GOD.  Regardless of whether anyone believes in Him or not–one day everyone will bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus Christ is the second person of the Godhead–the Word of God.  It is by the Word of God that the universe was created.  It is the Word of God that is the Light to our path.  It is the Word of God that sustains the entire universe so that everything moves according to God’s plans.  All this great and wondrous power was put into a human body so that God Himself could become our Savior.  He came to save us from going to the same place Satan and his cronies are going.

In eternity past, Jesus was the glory of God.  His form was glorious and radiant light, too beautiful to even describe.  Yet He put it all aside so that He could literally walk in our shoes.  He knows exactly how we feel, because He came and lived among us AS one of us.  Yes, the Creator of the universe CAN and DOES relate to our pains and our hurts and our anger.  He isn’t some big cosmic guy you can’t ever get close to.  He is literally a prayer away.  Just saying the name: JESUS will bring Him near.

No matter how far away you may have wandered away from Him or even if you’ve never met Him; you can simply call on that Name and He will respond.  The Bible says “all who call on the Name of the Lord, shall be saved.”  Even a whisper is heard by Him.  When I was in the darkest pit of my life, I whispered, “Jesus save me.”  And He heard and He came and He saved me out of that mess I was in.  He can and will do it for you too.

Meet Jesus Here…

Blessings everyone…
