The Watchmen

watchmen (1)

“I have set watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, who will never hold their peace day or night; you [are His servants and by your prayers] put the Lord in remembrance [of His promises], keep not silence.  And give Him no rest until He establishes Jerusalem and makes her a praise in the earth.” (Isaiah 62:6-7)

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at My mouth and give them warning from Me.  If I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, and you do not give him warning or speak to warn the wicked to turn from his wicked way, to save his life, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand.” (Ezekiel 3:17-18)

I don’t know about you, but it seems like everywhere I turn there are prophets speaking out warnings to people to turn back to God, to repent and get back in right-standing with Him.  I have been speaking the same thing out here on this blog.  The watchmen are seeing the storm clouds gathering, the “perfect storm” coming together in the culmination of the age.  Yet just as in the days of Noah, people seem to be oblivious to it all.

It’s tempting to keep this knowledge to myself and not concern myself with anyone else’s eternal destiny, but that is not God’s way.  I’m brought up short when I read Ezekiel 3:17-18.   He is so merciful.  As the Judge of the universe, He MUST judge sin.  He gives people time to repent, He sends people to warn them, He reaches out time and time again to help them avoid it.

God does NOT send judgment without telling His prophets or His watchmen so they can sound the alarm.  The alarm is sounding all over the world.  There is a sliver of time left in the Age of Grace, where “whosoever will” can come and pursue Him in an intimate relationship.  “Whosoever” can become part of the Bride of Christ.  The Overcomers who are watching for His appearing.  The wise virgins–the faithful servants–the passionate lovers of Jesus Christ.  When the Age of Grace is over, the catching away of the Bride to meet Jesus in the air happens then the Great Tribulation begins.

To be sure, millions of people will come to Jesus during the tribulation and those who were “foolish virgins” and weren’t ready for His appearing will have the opportunity to get close to Him still.  But there is only ONE Bride.  The people who pay the price NOW in the Age of Grace will be spared going through the Great Tribulation.  Malachi says,

“Then those who feared the Lord talked often one to another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshipfully feared the Lord and who thought on His name.  And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure).  And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.” (Malachi 3:16-17)

Now is the time to establish an intimate relationship with Him.  A day by day walk like Enoch did and Noah did.  To be a friend like Abraham was and Moses was.  God values our friendship so much!  That is why we were created in the first place.

Jesus said you can know the season and the season for the end of all things is here.  It seems the world is rushing headlong into nuclear war and the leaders are sticking their heads in the sand hoping it will all go away.  If you are a Christian and your relationship with the Lord is not intimate and you are not actively working to populate heaven in your sphere of influence, then please turn the fire up in your life and get hot for God.  Be faithful to what He has called you to do!  If you don’t know Jesus and you feel the “pull” then ask Him to save you right now and He will!  Now is the time and today is the day in the valley of decision…make the right choice.

Blessings everyone…
