“And you who were dead in trespasses and in the circumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions. Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This note, He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to His cross. God disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it (the Cross). (Colossians 2:13-15)
We are all born into a sin-filled, desperately wicked world. We are all lost and separated from God. Through Jesus Christ, we are re-born spiritually and made alive in Jesus Christ. When this happens, every sin ever committed gets nailed to the Cross and the Blood of Jesus eradicates it from the books. We are eternally vindicated, much to Satan’s dismay!
The Cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ tore away Satan’s right and ability to use our sins against us. Once our sins are put under the Blood of Jesus, they are dissolved like they never happened. That is how completely forgiven we are in the eyes of our heavenly Father–and that infuriates Satan like nothing else!
The Cross completely disarmed Satan and his principalities and powers that were using our own sins against us. The debt is paid by Jesus. It’s like owing a million dollars when you work a job paying minimum wage. It is a debt that is mathematically impossible to pay back. Our sins were spiritually impossible to overcome. We were helpless–but the love of the Father came through.
So many times we think back on the evil things we did and said before we came to Him and wonder if we are forgiven. Surely we still owe Him something for it? Nope. If you asked Him to forgive you, then He did. Don’t let Satan beat you over the head with a sin that doesn’t exist anymore. Receive the eternal vindication that Jesus paid for and walk in a new life…
Blessings everyone…
