In the Lord I take refuge [and put my trust]; how can you say to me, Flee like a bird to your mountain? For see, the wicked are bending the bow; they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they [furtively] in darkness may shoot at the upright in heart.
If the foundations are destroyed, what can the [unyieldingly] righteous do, or what has He [the Righteous One] wrought or accomplished? The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven. His eyes behold; His eyelids test and prove the children of men. The Lord tests and proves the righteous, but His soul abhors the wicked and him who loves violence.
Upon the wicked He will rain quick burning coals or snares; fire; brimstone, and a dreadful scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup. For the Lord is righteous; He loves righteous deeds; the upright shall behold His face.” (Psalm 11)
“Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day of danger, and having done all the crisis demands, to stand firmly in your place.” (Ephesians 6:13)
When the evil day comes, and it comes to everyone at one time or another. We run, or at least we should run to God for help. We put on our armor and do the spiritual warfare (if we know how) and get agreement from the people of God. But the hardest thing to do is to really TRUST God and to wait for the victory.
The evil day completely overwhelms and covers our world with chaos and darkness. It seems impossible to win. But God’s promises are true if we believe them. The Word says “if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Don’t think for one minute that the Lord is not aware of your situation. He is. Don’t think He hasn’t already thought of and provided for it.
The keys are belief in His willingness and ability to deliver you. Trust that He is on your side and has your back. Patience and faith to see the end result regardless of how high the waves are. This is part of taking refuge in the Most High. In staying under the shadow of His wings during the evil day.
When you have done everything you can do, then stand your ground and believe that God has given the victory to you. Remember: Whatever the enemy has meant for your harm, the Lord will turn it around to your benefit!
