“And the Lord utters His voice before His army, for His host is very great, and they are strong and powerful who execute God’s Word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible, and who can endure it?
Therefore also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship restored.
Rend your hearts and not your garments and return to the Lord, your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness: and He revokes His sentence of evil when His conditions are met.
Who knows but what he will turn, revoke your sentence of evil and leave a blessing behind Him [giving you the means with which to serve Him], even a cereal or meal offering and a drink offering for the Lord, your God?” (Joel 2:11-14)
Never in my fifty-six years on this earth have I seen times such as this. The brutality and the utter nonsense coming from our leaders is mind-numbing! Be we, as believers have many weapons to use against the evil of our days. Fasting and prayer are two critical weapons that we need to pick up and use against the enemies of God–Satan and his armies. There is a spiritual war going on that we don’t see but is nonetheless vicious. The destinies are entire nations are hanging in the balance. God is looking for Intercessors to fall on their knees and faces and pray, pray and pray still more!
But more than that, He is calling all people everywhere to return to Him. His call says to all people everywhere “Therefore also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship restored.”
This is the call to pursue more and more intimacy so that we can be healed from the inside out. No more hindrances of the past that can stop what He wants to do in our lives! O Lord of Hosts, help us run deeper and deeper into You!
The call to repentance has gone forth, the call to run to Him to find that intimate relationship has gone forth. The call has gone forth to PRAY–pray for nations, pray for family members, pray for other believers:pray, pray, pray! Prayer moves mountains, prayer changes destinies and prayer is the only thing standing between glorious victory or utter defeat! Are you going to answer His call?
