In the heart of every person ever conceived, there is a spot in the human spirit or heart, that only God can fill. People try to fill it with all kinds of things. Money and wealth, social status, fame and fortune, drugs and alcohol, sex and partying to name a few. But it is all a futile effort. How many stories have we seen, heard or read about famous people burning themselves completely out and dying young. You would think they had the world in the palm of their hand with fame, money and all the trappings of celebrity. Why do they turn to drugs and alcohol when the world is their oyster?
They cannot fill the God spot in their soul. I know I drowned my sorrows in hundreds of rum bottles until I finally asked Him to come and fill His spot in my life. He did and my life has been so full of purpose and that blessed peace that passes all understanding–a peace that only Jesus has.
