Christians Are Forever

“And said to them, Thus it is written that the Christ (the Messiah) should suffer and on the third day rise from (among) the dead.  And that repentance [with a view to and as the condition of] forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.  You are witnesses of these things.  And behold, I will send forth upon you what My Father has promised; but remain in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:46-49)

For over two thousand years Satan has been trying to eradicate Christianity from the face of the earth.  He has not been successful and he never will.  From the beginning he has been hell-bent to keep people from establishing a relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ.  Why?  Because he knows that if people get close to Him, they will be able to resist his temptations and fight off his attacks against their lives and their families.

His first attempt to eliminate Christianity came with the great persecution by Nero.  The atrocities then are well-known with Christians been sawn asunder, boiled in oil and fed to the lions.  What happened?  The Church grew.  His next tactic was to divide and conquer with Catholic and Protestant factions killing each other.  The great inquisition had untold horrors associated with it.  What happened?  The Church remained and continued to grow.

Today, Satan’s tactics are two-pronged.  In America, he has managed to draw people away from the Truth of God’s Word into apostate doctrines, where the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are are not welcome in their services any longer.  They have the proverbial form of godliness without the power.  Major denominations are falling away from the Truth and fundamentals of Christianity.  What is the result of this?  The Church continues on.  The believers who still believe the Bible are continuing on with God.  They are working until that wonderful day when He calls us to meet Him in the air.

Today, Satan has launched a wave of persecution against the Church that rivals Nero’s atrocities.  Entire towns of Christians in the Middle East have been destroyed.  Everyone has seen and heard of the ISIS barbarism.  Other groups such as Boko Haram in Africa are just as barbaric.  This wave of barbarism has set civilization back thousands of years.  People over there are living like they did in the dark ages.  Fear and terror are all they know.  What is happening with the Church?  Muslims are turning to Jesus Christ and against Islam because of the cruelty displayed by ISIS.  The Church is growing in the Middle East.

Satan tried and tried to wipe Christianity completely out, but it is a futile effort because the Word of God is clear.  God will always have a remnant of believers who are true to Him.  Always.  The remnant is like the “starter” in sourdough bread or in yogurt.  From a starter, you make lots and lots of bread or yogurt.  It just takes a little leaven to make a whole loaf of bread.

True Christianity is forever.  When this age is over and the dust settles from the last great battle: Christians win.  The meek inherit the earth.  The overcomers get their crowns.  The peacemakers see the face of God.  The question today is: Are you counted among the number of true believers or not?  If you can’t honestly say “yes” to that question.  It is an easy fix.  Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and forgive your sins.  Repent and turn away to follow Him.

Blessings everyone…
