“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the “breath of life [soul] and the immortal spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:12-13)
The Bible is so much more than just a book. It has the power to change your world like nothing else. Why? Because in it are the words of God and God’s words are alive and full of power! It is for this reason that speaking God’s Word or scriptures from the Bible over any situation you are facing has the power to change it for your benefit and for God’s glory. Yes, God gets glory in your victories!
In addition to using the Word of God as a weapon in your battles, it is the blueprint for your life. God has set the path for you to follow in His Word. There are standards of behavior found there, lessons on a myriad of topics from loving your neighbor to how to handle your money. There is no area of your life that is not covered in the Bible.
I’ve heard people say that the Bible can’t be true because it was written by a bunch of men and therefore can’t be taken literally. But I think that God is smart enough, He is powerful enough and wise enough to write all of His plans and instructions for mankind using weak, fault-ridden men down through thousands of years into one book that is still in existence and used by millions of people all over the world. I think He pulled it off. The Bible IS the faultless, true Word of the Living God. It can be trusted to guide anyone straight to the heart of God Himself.
I challenge anyone reading this to take thirty days and read one verse every day out loud. Any verse from any book in the Bible. Every day read the verse out loud and you will find that God will begin to move in your life. You will find Him in the pages of the Bible. His Word cannot fail. His Word holds the universe in place and His Word can and will hold YOUR life in place and bring you into a much richer life.
