“Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God is incapable of being tempted by evil and He himself tempts no one. But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death. Do not be misled, my beloved brethren.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all that gives light, in Whom there can be no variation nor shadow cast by His turning. And it was of His own free will that He gave us birth as sons by His Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of first fruits of His creatures [a sample of what He created to be consecrated to Himself].” (James 1:13-18)
There is one foundational truth that every believer must get settled in their mind and heart about God: God is a GOOD God. He does NOT bring evil into people’s lives for any reason. People bring things on themselves with their choices. The law of sowing and reaping is in effect to this day. Evil comes in through Satan. He is the roaring lion who seeks to steal, kill and destroy. He is the one who is looking relentlessly for someone to devour.
This truth is so critical that without it, you can’t have effective faith to believe God for ANYTHING. Think about it, if you really believe that God brings good AND evil into your life by thinking “maybe its God’s will for me to have cancer or be poor.” If you really believe that, then why fight it? Why not just lay down and do God’s will and die?
The Lord says clearly in His Word “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” A lack of the knowledge of God personally is what can bring deception by Satan about things that happen in our lives. Praising God for the good things and then blaming Him for the bad things is talking out of both sides of your mouth. Give the devil his due. Lay the blame where it really belongs.
God has done EVERYTHING possible to bring us victory in every single battle we engage in. If we choose to not believe His promises or we choose to blame Him for the loss or the situation, then really, whose fault is it? One thing I have learned. It is NEVER God’s fault that I’m not getting a breakthrough. It is something I have overlooked or something I have not repented of.
God is a good God and the devil is a bad devil. Such a simple truth, yet so hard for people to get into their spirits. The truth is, that if you really know God personally and in an intimate relationship, then you will KNOW positively that He is not the author of your problems–He is your solution.
