The Roman Road

“Since all have sinned are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.” (Romans 3:23)

“For the wages which sin pays is death, but the bountiful free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

“But God shows and clearly proves His own love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ the Messiah, the Anointed One, died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

“Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

The book of Romans has a path to Jesus Christ.  Romans is a great book to read all the way through.  It has so many big nuggets of Truth in it!  The Roman road takes us from sinners all the way to the very heart of God through His Son Jesus Christ.

Traditionally, people would use these scriptures to witness to the lost and win them to Jesus Christ.  In America past, almost everyone on some level believed and respected the Bible.  Today, its different because people no longer believe the Bible is worth anything.  They discount its validity.  In today’s world, it is the power and presence of the Lord that makes people realize He is real.  Then they will follow the Roman road to Jesus.

Our society and culture may have done a 180 turn away from the things of God, but His requirements for salvation have NOT changed one bit.  The Roman road still leads to His heart.  All our sins must be washed in the Blood of the Lamb and they must be repented of.  We must do a 180 turn BACK to God.  God cannot allow sinful man into His holy presence.  This philosophy of “all roads lead to God” is false!  There is only ONE way and that way is through Jesus Christ and His Blood sacrifice for sin.

Jesus said “I AM the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

The invitation to come to Him is open to anyone who believes in Jesus, confesses their sin and repents of sin and makes that 180 degree turn BACK to God.   Is it easy?  No it isn’t easy.  In fact, in today’s world the Christian is swimming upstream in a hostile world.  Is it worth all the trouble?  You bet it is, because in the end of it all we inherit eternal life and we inherit the earth.  And we have the peace of God which can be found nowhere else!  Peace in the middle of terror and instability.  Peace when all hell is breaking loose around you.

When Jesus comes to a person, they are never the same.  He is that unforgettable.  A life spent following Him is worth it all.  If you are being drawn right now, follow the Roman road to Jesus.  He’s waiting for YOU…

Blessings everyone…
