The Veil

“And you shall hang the veil from the clasps and bring the ark of the Testimony into place within the veil; and the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place.” (Exodus 26:33)

“But beyond the second veil, [there stood another] tabernacle [division] known as the Holy of Holies.  but into the Holy of Holies none but the high priest goes, and he only once a year, and never without taking a sacrifice of blood with him, which he offers for himself and for the errors and sins of ignorance and thoughtlessness which the people have committed.” (Hebrews 9:3 & 7)

“And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit.  And at once the curtain (the veil) of the sanctuary temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split.” (Matthew 27″50-51)

“He (Jesus Christ) went once for all into the Holy of Holies of heaven, not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves, but His own blood, having found and secured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us).” (Hebrews 9:12)

“For Christ, the Messiah has not entered into a sanctuary made with human hands, only a copy and pattern and type of the true one, but He has entered into heaven itself, to appear in the very presence of God on our behalf.” (Hebrews 9:24)

“Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are eagerly, constantly, and patiently waiting for and expecting Him.” (Hebrews 9:28)

As a consequence of the Garden of Eden debacle, mankind had a big problem.  It was a SIN problem.  Everyone born after Adam and Eve, were born into a sinful and rebellious nature.  Rebellion ruled the earth with an iron fist.  All rebellion is destined for the lake of fire according to the Bible.  Period.  It is wishful thinking to believe that all roads lead to heaven.  It is simply not true.  All of mankind was in a completely hopeless predicament with no way out.  But God had a plan…

God was not willing to just let His children be destroyed without giving them a way out.  He still wants our willing choice, and because of that, He gave us a free will and He will not violate that will.  The choice to love Him is totally ours.

The plan was for Jesus, the Son, the Word, the Light of the world, to come and take our place of punishment.  The Bible says “without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.”  So Jesus came and crawled up on that Cross and was slain for you and me.  Why would God do that?  Love.  The Bible says that “for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever should believe on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

In the Jewish temple in Jerusalem, there was a big, heavy curtain or veil that separated people from a Holy God.  When Jesus died on the Cross, the heavy veil in the temple was rent from top to bottom.  You see, sin cannot be in the presence of a Holy God.  It just can’t.  But the Blood of Jesus, eradicates sin from us–completely!  What Jesus did for you and me was to make the way open for us to have the same intimate relationship with God that Adam and Eve had in the Garden.  THAT is the good news of the Gospel!  Jesus got it back for us!

At any time, we can go into our prayer closet and fellowship with the Most High God in His presence because of what Jesus did on the Cross.  His Blood enables us, faults and all, to fellowship with our heavenly Father.  Truly, a love like this the world has never known!

Beloved, don’t waste your days and nights on worldly things when there is a whole world of blessings waiting in the presence of the Most High!  Instead of trying to figure it out by yourself, take all your cares to Him.  He knows the path out of the most tangled of messes.

Blessings everyone…
