“How have the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished! (II Samuel 1:27)
“But also in those days there arose false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among yourselves, who will subtly and stealthily introduce heretical doctrines (destructive heresies), even denying and disowning the Master Who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their immoral ways and lascivious doings; because of them the true Way will be maligned and defamed.
And in their covetousness (lust and greed) they will exploit you with false (cunning) arguments. From of old the sentence of condemnation for them has not been idle; their destruction (eternal misery) has not been asleep. For God did not even spare angels that sinned, but cast them into hell, delivering them to be kept there in pits of gloom till the judgment and their doom.
And He spared not the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness with seven other persons, when He brought a flood upon the world of ungodly people. And He condemned to ruin and extinction the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, reducing them to ashes and thus set them forth as an example to those who would be ungodly; And He rescued righteous Lot, greatly worn out and distressed by the wanton ways of the ungodly and lawless. For that just man, living there among them, tortured his righteous soul every day with what he saw and heard of their unlawful and wicked deeds–
Now if all these things are true, then be sure, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly out of temptations and trials, and how to keep the ungodly under chastisement until the day of judgment and doom. (II Peter 2:1-9)
“My heart is breaking with the longing that it has for Your ordinances and judgments at all times. You rebuke the proud and arrogant, the accursed ones, who err and wander from Your commandments. Take away from me reproach and contempt, for I keep Your testimonies.” (Psalm 119:20-22)
On June 26, 2015 America turned a corner into a very dark place that cannot be undone. The ruling of the supreme court that can shove homosexual marriage down the throats of Christians, whose basic Bible doctrines say it is an abomination to God has sealed our judgment as a nation. When Sodom and Gomorrah legalized abomination in their government, their destruction was set in the Court of Heaven. It is set in America now.
The Lord is slow to anger because He so wants people to turn to Him and live. He gives people ample opportunity time and time again to turn from death to life. But there comes a tipping point where judgment has to be issued. In this nation, the people of God are like Lot. Our souls are distressed at what we are seeing and hearing. Every day it seems there is a new low to observe and hear about.
The most distressing of all and hurtful to Father God is the people who call Him Lord yet are fully approving of the godlessness in this nation. The pastors and leaders of huge congregations of people, have not spoken the truth of the Word of God, but instead have embraced the watered down false teachings that say evil is OK.
The Bible calls these times “perilous times.” But people of God, take heart! God knows how to rescue His people, those who He knows personally, out of everything coming to this nation. We all need to make Him a priority in our every day lives right now. Psalm 91 says “He who dwells in the secret place of the Almighty, shall abide under His shadow.” There is safety in the secret place of His presence. Beloved go there now and stay there! Only with our eyes will we behold the reward of the wicked.
Remember: weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. At the end of it all Saints of God: We inherit the earth…
