The Lord of the Do-Over

“Unto You, O Lord, do I bring my life.  O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, and am confident in You.  Let me not be put to shame or [my hope in You] be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me.  Yes, let none who trust and wait hopefully and look for You be put to shame or be disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.  Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.  Guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You only do I wait expectantly all the day long.  Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercy and loving-kindness; for they have ever been from of old.  Remember not the sins (the lapses and frailties) of my youth or my transgressions; according to Your mercy and steadfast love remember me, for Your goodness sake, O Lord.” (Psalm 25:1-7)

God is fully aware of our frailties and weaknesses.  He sees the day of every time we miss it and stumble–even fall flat on our face.  What does He say to do?  “Unto You, O Lord, do I bring my life.”  He says “bring your life–as it is and I’ll fix it.”  The very act of bringing Him our lives, shows that we trust Him enough to take that first step.  He says “your hope in Me won’t be disappointed.”

Even in our worst mistakes, He has many things from it He wants to teach us.  He wants to “guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me.”  So many times we fail to realize how merciful and loving our Father is.  When we humble ourselves and ask for His help, He will never beat us up about it.  Now He will rebuke us to get to the place of humility!  But even His rebukes are full of love.  He is the Lord of the Do-overs.

Peter got a “do-over” after he denied Jesus three times.  The Lord asked him three times if he loved Him.  He gave him three chances to reaffirm his love for Him and He restored him fully.  Isn’t God good?  Wherever you in your spiritual walk with the Lord.  If you feel like you have fallen short–take heart!  Bring your life to Him and He will give you a “do-over” too.  He will show you things from it and give you another chance to glorify Him!

Meet Jesus Here…

Blessings everyone…
