“The Lord takes pleasure in those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy and loving-kindness. Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! For He has strengthened and made hard the bars of your gates, and He has blessed your children within you. He makes peace in your borders; He fills you with the finest of the wheat. He sends forth His commandment to the earth; His word runs very swiftly. He gives to the earth snow like a blanket of wool; He scatters the hoarfrost like ashes. He casts for His ice like crumbs; who can stand before His cold? He sends out His word, and melts ice and snow; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow. He declares His word to Jacob, His statues and His ordinances to Israel. He has not dealt so with any other nation; they have not known (understood, appreciated, given heed to and cherished) His ordinances. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!” (Psalm 147:11-20)
These days it seems that mankind is trying their best to push God out of the earth completely. Just yesterday the Supreme Court of Alabama ordered the removal of the 10 Commandments monument. But what would happen if God lifted His hand completely off the earth? Hell would be unleashed on this earth like we can’t even imagine. Just look at the power of His word to do things in the earth!
When He commands the earth the snow comes, the ice comes; then at His word it melts and gives us fresh water to drink. He causes the wind to flow the water around the earth so everyone around can enjoy it. Isn’t God good? The earth belongs to Him. He created it and it is His to do whatever He wants with it. He chooses to bless us with a beautiful planet. One planet in untold millions of other planets scattered around the universe. Truly He has not dealt so with any other creation as He has us–mankind. Yet we have not known or appreciated all the wonderful things He has done for human beings regardless of what they have done or are doing.
But to those who love Him. Who long to see His face. Who worshipfully fear Him. He sends so many blessings we have no room to contain it. Through the power of His Word He:
*Strengthens and makes hard the bars of our gates – His protection for us can be trusted. His Word stands against all negatives if we apply it to our lives.
*He blesses our children within us – with the worship and trust in the Lord, comes the blessing of children, but also strong and healthy children. Children who follow hard after the Lord. Speak the blessings of the Lord over your children and grandchildren–even your unborn children. Watch what God will do in your family.
*He causes peace to be in our borders – perhaps the greatest blessing is peace. The freedom to enjoy life. The peace of God cannot be found anywhere else except by those who worshipfully fear Him.
*He fills us with the finest of wheat – He blesses those who worshipfully fear Him with not only food, but the best food around! Every day we need food and every day He is faithful to provide His children with the best food. His Word says that He daily loads us with benefits. The word “loads” indicates that we can hardly carry it all! I want that kind of problem folks!
People of God, don’t let today slip away with giving Him the best praise you can for all the wonderful things He has done for you! Take His Word and speak it out over your life today. God takes His Word seriously. When He sees someone speaking it out in faith over their lives, He moves swiftly to bring it to pass. He’s just that way! So praise the Lord today!
