“First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men. For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that outwardly we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life, and inwardly, a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. For such praying is good and right, and it is pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior.” (I Timothy 2:1-3)
“I desire therefore that in every place men should pray, without anger or quarrelling or resentment or doubt in their minds, lifting up holy hands.” (I Timothy 2:8)
In this hour, our prayers for others are incredibly important to God. Because evil is abounding so much all around us, prayer is the most powerful thing we, as individuals can do to change things around us. In America, I believe the course is set for us as a nation and we are headed into turbulent times. However, as individuals, God’s blessings and protection and provisions are there for us: His children.
I am an intercessor. That is the ministry He has put me in for such a time as this and I can’t tell you the extreme burden the Lord has for the lost souls in the earth today. People are following the “pied pipers” that are in the churches today, leading them away from Him with false teachings that tickle their ears. Deception is so strong in the earth right now, it is imperative that every person who calls Jesus Christ Lord, become grounded in His Word and ways and that comes through the pursuit of Him in an intimate relationship. I wake up with the burden for the lost and those fallen away every day.
But the Lord wants ALL people great and small to pray every day for each other and the lost and our governments (good or bad). God has chosen to work in the lives of people through one thing: PRAYER. If people don’t pray, then He can’t do what He wants to do. We all know He has the power to do it, but this is what He CHOSE to do with mankind. Our world can change one prayer at a time if we make the choice to diligently (day by day) pray. In less than five minutes you can pray for every human being that is lost today.
The Prayer Challenge
Take this challenge up. Every day pray this simple prayer for thirty days. Don’t skip any days! Whether you pray a lot or a little, pray this simple prayer for the souls of the lost and your government every day for thirty days. Your world will become peaceful outwardly and inwardly. The rewards are eternal. God hears and loves these prayers! And on that day, when all this is over, and we are finally with Him, you will find people coming up to you thanking you for praying for them! Pray this simple prayer:
Father, I come before You in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Your Son, my Savior. I lift up every human being on this planet who, if they died right now, would go to hell. I petition You for their souls to be saved! I stand in the gap right now for their souls and ask that You send laborers across their paths to tell them the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I ask that the Holy Spirit begin to take out their stony hearts and put in hearts of flesh, hearts that are tender towards You. Stir up the hunger for righteousness, for the things of Your heart! I give thanks to You, who wishes all men everywhere to be saved! I ask all these things in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ! Amen!
“Father, I pray for all the leaders in positions of authority at the federal, state and local levels. I ask that godly wisdom be imparted to them to govern righteously before You. I ask for godly counsel be placed in each of their realms of government and that their counsel be valued by them in Jesus’ Name. I thank You Father, that I am able to leave a peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen and Amen!
You know when the floods come, people put sandbags out to stop the overflow. If enough sandbags are put out, it makes a difference. Our prayers are the “sandbags” God wants to use to stop the flooding of evil into our individual lives and collectively as the Body of Christ. One prayer at a time will eventually make a big difference!
