Heaven is Worth the Wait

“Blessed be the God and Father our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.  To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you.  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

“Wherein you greatly rejoice though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold temptations.  That the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, you love, in whom, though now you see Him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.” (I Peter 1:1-8)

No other faith has the same level of hope that Christianity does.  From the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our heart, we have are infused with the hope of a better tomorrow and more importantly, an eternity in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ!

So many believers all over the world are under great pressure to abandon their faith in Jesus Christ, through the horrific persecution and slaughter going on in the Middle East and Africa, and even in the western nations we are seeing an increase in the level of persecution of both Jews and Christians.  The Bible says that the testing and trying of our faith is “much more precious than gold.”

Because Christianity is a relationship with the LORD and not a religion, it requires faith from the outset.  We are striving to establish a relationship with a God we cannot see.  An intimate relationship that assumes He is actively involved in this relationship.  We believe He hears us, we believe He actually considers us, we believe He talks to us through His Spirit and His Word–the Bible, and we believe we will see Him on that day in heaven.

The pressure of just trying to stay close to Jesus is increasing for believers.  The world has turned hate-filled eyes on Christians in just about every nation on the planet.  At the highest levels of government to  main street employers, Christians are being discriminated against, sued in court, bullied on the Internet and in some cases killed.  In America.  A land originally dedicated to God by the founders of the country.  Who knew we would come to this?

To all Christians who are looking for His appearing, I say HEAVEN IS WORTH THE WAIT!  Our hope is full of life because our life is in HIM.  Count every day the pressure is on as a precious thing–because your Father in heaven sure does!

Stay strong believers…
