Heaven’s Most Precious Gem: Wisdom

“My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands.  For length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.  Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.  Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil, it will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones.  Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will overflow with new wine.  “My son do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor detest His correction; for whom the LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom He delights.

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold.  She is more precious that rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare to her.  Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand are ways of pleasantries, and all her paths are peace.  She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her. (Proverbs 3:1-18)

The wisdom of God is a rare thing to find in people today.  Life is so fast and busy, people push seeking God to the back burner.  I know I have been guilty of it so often!  But when we make ourselves slow down and remember what is really important and believers in Jesus Christ, we will find God’s treasuries of wisdom open for us to take hold of it all.

How do you get wisdom?  It starts with the fear of the Lord.  Or the acknowledgement of His sovereignty in your life.  It continues as you seek Him through prayer and studying His Word.  It grows as you begin to spend more time worshiping Him and just sitting in His presence.  Believe me, when you are serious about finding God–He is right there waiting where you left Him!

The intimate relationship brings God’s wisdom into your life like nothing else.  And with it come all the benefits of the Kingdom of God such as 1) long life 2) peace 3) favor of God and man 4) provisions, to name a few.  Only in the Kingdom of God is the peace found and it comes through the intimate relationship.  Wisdom springs from that relationship and wisdom will make you successful in every area of your life.

Blessings everyone…
