“Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the Truth of the LORD endures forever.” (Psalm 117)
Yesterday was a rough day on the battlefield and I was feeling pretty raw. As I sat contemplating the day, I asked the LORD to give me a scripture to encourage myself in. He gave me the shortest Psalm in the Bible. Psalm 117. As I read these words I realized that no matter how unsettling or how bad it looks, His Truth endures. His Truth endures regardless of our temporary emotions. I realized that God is not moved by our anger at Him. He knows who He is. He knows the beginning from the end, so His command to me is to praise, praise and praise still more! And leave the rest of it all in His hands.
So that is what I did. Jesus said His burden is light and His yoke is easy. His “burden” for me today is to praise Him and lift His Name up higher and higher because I know that as I lift Jesus higher, He will draw all men unto Himself. Are you feeling raw too? Praise Him anyway! It’s like a medicine.
