The Valley of Bones

drybones

“The hand of the LORD came upon me (Ezekiel) and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.  Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.  And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?  So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

“Again He said to me (Ezekiel), “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!  Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.  I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath into you, and you shall live.  Then you shall know that I AM the LORD.” (Ezekiel 37:1-6)

The Lord took Ezekiel into the Spirit and brought him to a spiritual valley of dry bones.  Dried out bones are beyond repair.  There is no natural way a dried out bone can have life in it.  Every one of us at one time or another has been in this same valley looking out over a hopeless situation in our lives.  In the natural there is no way out.  No way victory can come by our own strength or purpose.  Just a valley full of dry bones.  Dead bones, dead dreams, dead hopes, and dead faith.  But what does God say about these bones?

God spoke to the dry bones through His prophet Ezekiel and said “surely I will cause breath to enter into you.”  Notice that God spoke through Ezekiel, a human being into this valley of hopelessness.  He has words of power, words of life and words of hope for YOUR valley of bones too..yes even today in 2015, He still speaks to the dry bones in His children’s lives.

Bring your valley of bones to Him and ask for His words of life for your situation.  Why would He do it for you?  One because He loves you and two “then you shall KNOW that I AM the LORD.”

Blessings everyone…
