“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms, for the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.” (Psalm 95:1-7)
Today is the day that the LORD has made! Let us be glad and rejoice in it! This the LORD’s day. Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the first day of the week. This is His day. It it His day to be glorified and praised and worshiped with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength. Wherever you are in the world today, in whatever circumstance you are in; take a minute to give thanks to the King of Kings; give praise to the Maker of it all. He is the way-maker out of all our troubles.
“Today, if you will hear His voice; do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, as in the day of trial in the wilderness, when your fathers tested Me; they tried Me, thought they saw My work. For forty years I was grieved with that generation, and said, It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they do not know My ways. So I swore n My wrath, They shall not enter My rest.” (Psalm 95:8-11)
Praise and worship, singing and shouting are all wonderful things, but what shows God we love Him is one thing:OBEDIENCE. Obedience is better than the sacrifice of praise. What gain is singing and shouting in church, when during the week our lives were full of secret sins? It is time for the people who call Jesus Christ LORD, to come out of sin and become set apart for His use. Jesus said “if you love Me, you will OBEY Me. Do you love Jesus more than anything or is your sin more important? A hard choice for sure, but a choice that has eternal consequences. “Today I set before you LIFE or DEATH. Choose LIFE.”
