Let Freedom Reign

“Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, who ever commits sin is a slave of sin.  And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.  Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:34-36)

It has been fourteen years since life in America changed forever.  The terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center buildings, the Pentagon and United Flight 93 destroyed the lives and families of the people killed in these attacks.  It also devastated us as a people, a nation.  Up until that day, we have all lived in freedom.  Did you know that freedom is a very precious thing?  Untold millions over the millenia of time have shed their blood for freedom.  And One even shed His Blood for our freedom from sin and spiritual death.  Jesus Christ did that for us.

There is natural freedom and there is spiritual freedom.  You can have natural freedom and still be in desperate bondage to sin.  Then again, you can be sitting behind bars in a cage and have more freedom that those in a free land.  The freedom Jesus Christ has is spiritual freedom.  He doesn’t promise a rose garden in the natural world, but in the Spirit, freedom reigns!  Because this freedom reigns in our hearts a thousand can fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand but it won’t affect our hearts because we are free indeed in Jesus Christ.

Fourteen years after 9/11 and our nation is less free than it ever has been.  We, as Christians are now facing criminal charges for standing for righteousness–for Jesus Christ.  Who knew that this nation would come to this?  People of God, realize today that no matter how much freedom they destroy in this nation, YOU are still more free in your heart than those who don’t know Jesus.

All over the world Christians are facing death for just claiming Jesus is Lord.  They are thrown in prison, they are beheaded, they are raped and enslaved, they watch as their children are beheaded before their eyes.  Yet their faith and their eyes are on the prize of Jesus Christ.  In their hearts, they are free indeed.  They are citizens of the freest nation in the universe–the Kingdom of God.  In the end, the humble WILL inherit the earth.

Believers, keep your eyes on Jesus no matter what your ears hear and your eyes behold in these evil days.  Look up for YOUR redemption draws near!  Our King is coming soon!  The pieces are falling into place for that blessed event.

Stay strong believers…
