Only The Best

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25-27)

“And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!  Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”  And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” (Revelation 19:6-8)

“Then he said to me, “Write “Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!”  And he (the angel) said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” (Revelation 19:9)

Probably every loving parent wants the very best of everything for their precious children.  They want them to have plenty of good food, and toys and clothes.  As they mature, they want them to have decent friends that help keep them on a good path.  When they are grown, they want them to have the very best husband or wife there is.  Only the best for their precious one!

God the Father is the same way with His Precious One–Jesus Christ.  He wants only the very best Bride for His Son!  Pure and spotless!  Without blemishes or wrinkles.  A Bride who is just as holy as He is!  Only the best for His Son!

Let’s look at the characteristics of a bride for a few minutes.  A bride is first of all, in love with her groom.  She only wants him!  Second is her passion for him.  It is her passion for their new life together as lovers and partners that drives her to prepare herself to be with him.  The perfect bridal gown, the perfect decorations for the wedding, the perfect flowers.  She is getting her things ready to make a home with her new husband.  Third, she is committed to this marriage.  All other men are shunned, no matter how handsome or rich.  She knows what she has far surpasses anything these other men can offer her!

Now let’s look at the Bride of Christ.  The Bride is completely in love with Jesus.  He is her number one priority above all else.  The Bride is not only in love, but her passion burns hotter with each passing day.  Every day she is looking and listening for His call.  While she is waiting for that day, she is busy preparing herself to meet Him.  She is getting rid of all sin-stained garments through repentance and cleansing by the Blood of Jesus.  She has turned her back on the things of the world and focuses only on her coming Bridegroom.  She is committed to this eternal marriage and all worldly pleasures are forsaken for this wonderful prize.

All over the world the Bride of Christ, from every nation, every tribe and tongue are busy preparing themselves to meet Him in the air when He calls.  We don’t know the day or the hour but we do know that the season is here!  We can almost feel His breath on our face!  The days are exciting and filled with expectation even in the face of violent persecution and death..our blessed Hope is almost ready to call us to the marriage supper!

What does it take to become part of the Bride?  Asking Jesus to come into your heart and save you.  Then make Him the Lord, the number one priority in your life.  If you are reading this and are drawn to Him…then He is calling you to come and be a part of His Bride…Go to this link to meet Jesus as YOUR Savior today…
