The Overflowing Cup

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.  For this is good an acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who “gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle.” (I Timothy 2:1-7)

“I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles , to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” (Acts 26:17-18)

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 2:9)

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we asking anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (I John 2:14-15)

How many times have I told the Lord that I wanted to do great things for the Kingdom of God?  To go to far off lands and help wins souls for the Kingdom of God.  To give into this ministry or that ministry that is doing exactly that.  But the Lord showed me that the most powerful thing I can do to advance the Kingdom of God is to PRAY FOR THE LOST.  We think that when we pray it is just going out into the atmosphere and that God may or may not be listening because we don’t see anything resulting from it.

Prayer is not a wasted effort, especially prayers for the lost!  God has prayer warriors all over the place.  People that nobody sees crying out for the souls of the lost ones.  Those precious souls that are so valuable to God.  The elderly men and women who are bed-ridden or house-bound, but their world is a power-house of prayer.  The busy mother who is up in the wee hours of the morning crying out to God for the lost ones to come to Him.  The CEO who gets home late but still goes to his prayer closet and prays for the lost.  The people in prisons for their faith, crying out to God from their prison cells for the lost.  Make no mistake about it, the sacrifices these people make for the lost to come to salvation is not a wasted effort.  God captures each word as a precious diamond and puts in a cup that is overflowing.

But more than that, these prayers are moving mountains in the spirit world.  Angels are moving in the lives of the lost ones completely invisible to this natural world.  All over the world the Spirit of God is being poured out on all nations.  Prayer is the vehicle of the outpouring of any move of God.  The prayers of the saints on their knees in the wee hours casts up a highway before our God to move among the lost.  The last great outpouring, the greatest outpouring ever seen is now here.  I saw an article about how Jesus is appearing to many Muslim leaders around the world and they are turning to Jesus as Savior.  The picture showed a long line of Muslims stand in the river to be baptized to follow Jesus.  What a beautiful sight!

If you think that you aren’t in a position to make a difference in the Kingdom of God or that your prayers aren’t noticed…think again.  Your prayers for the lost in your world are VERY important, even though you don’t see any change in the situation.  God captures every word and angels ARE moving in the lives of your lost loved ones.  Don’t stop praying.  One day the cup will fill up and BAM! They meet Jesus!  Be encouraged today beloved, to keep on praying for the lost.  It is the BEST thing you can do to advance God’s Kingdom.  Every prayer is recorded in YOUR book in heaven and credited to your heavenly treasury.  You won’t know until that great day, how YOUR prayers impacted the lives of people around the world.

Blessings everyone…
