“Who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.” (I Timothy 6:16)
“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I am known.” (I Corinthians 13:12)
“And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses. All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door. So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.” (Exodus 33:9-11)
Jesus Christ is the second Person in the Godhead (Elohim). He is the Living Word of God. He has ever been in the very presence of the Father–the Creator of it all. He has always dwelt in the unapproachable light of Elohim, “whom no man has ever seen nor can see.” Until we put on immortality on that day, we cannot see Him as He really is. Our fleshly bodies would die. How then did Moses talk with Him face to face and live? The Pillar Cloud of His presence met with Moses. Moses was allowed to see His back as He passed by, which must have been incredible! Oh to see Him face to face!
But there is one thing that we have that Moses did not have. We have the finished work of the Cross. The finished work of the Cross has paved the way for each human being to have an intimate relationship with the Father–Abba. An intimate relationship is a face-to-face relationship. A husband and wife for example. Their intimacy is face to face. There is something about looking into someones’ face and eyes that brings that intimacy. The eyes are the windows of the soul. Seeing love in the eyes of your spouse fuels the intimacy.
At any time and in any place, we can talk to our heavenly Father. He is that accessible because of what Jesus Christ did on the Cross. Why do you think Christians are so hated? Because of the power of God and the glory of God that resides within each one of us. Satan hates it and his minions hate it. The haters of Christianity can kill millions of us, but they will never defeat God. He is all-powerful and impossible to defeat. His glory and His purposes WILL prevail in the end and all His enemies will be made His footstool.
Satan has done a pretty good job of convincing people that God is mad at them or He is far-removed from their lives. That He cannot be reached. The last thing he wants is for a child of God to tap into the intimate relationship. The face to face intimate relationship. Why is he so afraid of this? Because it is in this intimate relationship that we become immovable in our faith. We know His voice, we know what His Word says and we know HIM intimately. We cannot be moved. We know who we are in Christ Jesus. This intimate relationship makes us very dangerous to his kingdom.
When someone gets to the immovable position, God can use that person to do mighty things for His kingdom. As wonderful as it is to be used by God like this, it is the journey to this position that is the real blessing. Building a face to face intimate relationship with Abba Father is the Pearl of great price. The relationship is what makes Christianity so different from all other religions.
Building the intimate relationship with Him begins with salvation. It begins with repentance and cleansing by the Blood of Jesus. Then day by day just meet with Him and talk with Him. Before you know it, you are on a journey that will fill your life to overflowing with the goodness of God. Will you see God face to face with your eyes? One day you will, but the intimate relationship IS a face-to-face relationship right here and right now. He’s ready if you are….
