The Last Hour

“Little children, It is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.  They went out from us, but they were not of us, they would have continued to with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.  But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” (I John 2:18-19)

In the Apostle John’s day, people thought the end of the world was near.  Two thousand plus years later we know it wasn’t.  Today, people scoff at the promise of His coming.  Even in some Christian circles, people just don’t believe it.  This too is a sign that we are living in the last hour before the trumpet sounds.

The Word says in 2 Peter 3:3 “knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “where is the promise of His coming?  For since the fathers fell asleep (died), all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”  One thing we have to remember is that God is merciful and gracious.  The Word says that with God one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.  This means that in eternity, time is not a factor.  God looks into the earth and sees the lost souls looking for Him.  He sees the potential in everyone on the planet.

Jesus said that the Gospel would be preached in all the world and then the end will come.  People living in the Kingdom of God are busy spreading the Gospel in spite of the persecution and resistance to our message.  We must be about our Father’s business.  The technology of today greatly increases the “reach” of our message.  Blogs like this one are all over the Internet.  Facebook is full of the Gospel message.

One day, everyone will have been presented with the Gospel.  Our mission is to present the Gospel to the lost and if they receive it, we are to help them grow in the Lord.  If they don’t receive it, we are to move on and pray for them.  We are to show the love of Jesus Christ and that is what draws people to Him.  The LOVE of God that is spread abroad in our hearts.

In this last hour, the hearts of many are cold, but take heart, there is a last great awakening coming like the latter rains spoken of in the Bible.  The Spirit of God is moving through the earth in the hearts and lives of people, drawing them to Jesus Christ.  People of God, keep on letting your light shine.  Keep on sharing your faith in whatever ways you can.  You never know whose eternity can be changed by your life.

Blessings everyone…
