“…and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2-3)
“As you, therefore, have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware let anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:6-8)
“In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that were against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:11-15)
Paul is telling the Colossian church to not get caught back up in religion. The Bible says “whom the Son sets free is free indeed!” Mankind has made the purity of Christianity a religion. It is NOT a religion. Any religion has sets of binding rules and regulations that you must meet. There are only two commandments in true Christianity. The first is the LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, strength and might. The second is to LOVE your neighbor as yourself. When you attain the fullness of AGAPE Love, then you can love in the face of hate and scorn.
When we can get to this state of the fulness of AGAPE love, we are then matured and fully grown believers. We can change the world through God’s love. There is no power that can stand before His love.
But in the meantime, while we are growing up, we have to understand who we are in Christ and who we belong to. We have to understand the extent and the depths of the great salvation that Jesus paid for on the Cross. He wiped out ALL our transgressions. He legally made the way for repentance to come to each human being. He totally and completely stripped Satan of the authority he stole from Adam. He reduced his stature to that of a con man. He has to cheat and lie to gain any victory over us…and that is only if we let him. It is a done deal. When Jesus said “IT IS FINISHED!” there is nothing left to be done. He did it all. He paid it all. The ball is now in our court.
He has made it possible for us to get victory over the most difficult “mountains” in our lives. There is nothing that we can’t do because Jesus made it possible for us to do it. He paid for my healing, my provisions, my peace, my victories over all the power of the enemy. I don’t know about anyone else, but I choose to take hold of EVERYTHING He did for me. I don’t have to wonder IF God wants to heal me or IF God wants to provide food, shelter and money to pay my bills. I don’t have to wonder IF God wants me to live victoriously or IF He wants the mountains in my life removed. I KNOW He does. I don’t even have to ask. All I have to do is speak to the mountains in the Name of Jesus and they will move–they have to move.
Jesus took the “wondering” out of the equation in Christianity. He said “I will” to the man who needed healing. He has said “I will” from the Cross. As believers, we are to walk in Him where the victory is because it really is a done deal…
Don’t know Him?
