“Hurry and go up to my father, and say to him, “Thus says your son Joseph: “God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not tarry. You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me, you and your children, your children’s children, your flocks and your herds, and all that you have. there I will provide for you, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty; for there are still five years of famine.” (Genesis 45:9-11)
“And Joseph situated his father and his brothers, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharoah had commanded. Then Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father’s household with bread, according to the number in their families.” (Genesis 47:11-12)
“So Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions there and grew and multiplied exceedingly.” (Genesis 47:27)
“Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. And he said to his people, “Look, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we; come let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply, and it happens, in the event of war, that they also join our enemies and fight against us, and so go up out of the land.” (Exodus 1:8-10)
“But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were in dread of the children of Israel. So the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor. And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage–in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. All their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.” (Exodus 1:12-14)
“Thus says the Lord: Let My people go, that they may serve Me. Or else, if you will not let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you and your servants, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground on which they stand. And in that day, I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may know that I am the LORD in the midst of the land.” (Exodus 8:20-22)
“Let My people go, that they may serve Me. For if you refuse to let them go, and still hold them, behold, the hand of the LORD will be on your cattle in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the oxen, and on the sheep–a very severe pestilence. And the LORD will make a difference between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt. So nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel.” (Exodus 9:1-4)
We can learn a lot from Jacob’s family during these hard times. There came up a severe famine in the land of Canaan where Jacob lived. God saw the day coming and He had already positioned Joseph in Egypt to take care of his family. Through a terrible act of betrayal by Joseph’s own brothers, God used this evil situation to provide for His people during the famine.
God did not make the famine avoid the land of Canaan where Jacob lived. Rather Canaan was at the center of it! But didn’t Jacob have a covenant with God? Why didn’t God move the famine somewhere else? The land of Canaan was filled with people who were idolaters. They worshiped demon gods and not the One True God that Jacob served. They had no covenant and they were under judgment for their evil ways. Judgment came to the land where Jacob lived and he too was subject to the effects of a severe famine.
God will NEVER forsake His covenants. He is a covenant-keeping God! The famine eventually drove Joseph’s brothers to Egypt to scope out the land for food opportunities. They met and reconciled and brought the entire family and all possessions to Egypt to live during the famine. Lock, stock, and barrel, Jacob completely relocated his family. He died in Egypt. God had given Joseph so much favor that he was second in command of the entire nation of Egypt! Because of his relationship with Pharoah, he was able to give his father the land of Goshen. This wasn’t some backwoods trash land that was good for nothing either. This land belonged to Pharoah himself and was considered the BEST land in the nation! Isn’t God good?
So Jacob and his family made their home in the land of Goshen where they prospered and grew into a mighty nation of over one million people in about four hundred years. Their flocks prospered, their vineyards prospered, their crops never failed. God blessed them in the land of Goshen from generation to generation.
Then a new king arose who never knew about Joseph and how the Hebrews were always favored. He looked at them with dread and fear that they would take from him. He began to abuse them and make them slaves. The prosperous new nation had come under an evil ruler who was determined to destroy them. He began to kill their babies right after they were born. The men were forced into hard labor in the fields of the Pharoah. They were beaten and not given the supplies they needed to perform the work effectively. It was a terrible hardship they were under.
The covenant between the Hebrews and God still promised the land of Canaan as their promised land. God was ready to move His people from Egypt to Canaan to regain their homeland. Canaan was now firmly in the hands of the same people who worshiped demon gods. They had built fortified cities and there were some really big and fierce people there now. God anointed Moses to lead His people back to Canaan, but first they had to get out of Egypt. The new Pharoah had no intention of letting his cheap labor leave in the middle of his projects!
So God started bringing judgments on the land of Egypt. God’s covenant people were still living in there, and they were being persecuted for their relationship with God. They were dying under the hot Egyptian sun. But notice that the judgments on the Egyptian people and animals did NOT impact the land of Goshen, where God’s people lived. Their homes, their families and their animals and provisions were not impacted. As long as they remained in the land of Goshen, they were safe and protected.
Today, in America, we are living under the rule of an evil ruler. Our government does not want to acknowledge God in their ways. They would rather acknowledge demon gods and allow their prayers in the halls of Congress. The laws they pass say that evil is good and good is evil. This country is so wicked that the leaders are perfectly fine with allowing all manner of men to invade public restrooms to endanger women and children with their perversions. This country is so wicked that an organization that aborts babies and sells their body parts to the highest bidder is protected and anyone trying to expose them is prosecuted. This country is so wicked that the borders have been opened to the vilest of people coming in for the express purpose of killing as many Americans as they possibly can. This country is so wicked that statues of Satan have been erected and a television show made to say that “Lucifer is cool” has been published. This country is so wicked that the altar of Baal was actually planned to be erected but the prayers of the Saints of God thwarted it..for now. All of these things are fully approved by the current government of this land. This land is under judgment.
It used to be that we had an evil government, but the people still held on to God. Not so anymore. Now the new generation of people don’t know God. They don’t even know American history. They have been brainwashed by the liberal schools to the point where they don’t even know who Hitler was but can tell you every character on Jersey Shore TV show! The wickedness has seeped into all levels of our society..even into the Church of Jesus Christ. Even there, the power of God is scorned and a watered-down gospel that says evil is good and good is evil is “preached” to people who don’t have a clue the danger they are in!
But God ALWAYS has a remnant of people who have put Him first in their hearts. He is our all in all. We are consumed with passion for His Word and His ways. We are on our faces in prayer for this evil land. We pray for one reason. We pray for the peace and freedom to advance the kingdom of God. It isn’t about us. It isn’t about how nice we can build our little kingdoms on earth. It is about sacrificing our desires in favor of God’s. It is about letting the zeal of God’s house consume us.
The remnant of the faithful ones will live in the land of Goshen during the judgment of America. Even now God is preparing His people and providing for them. Will we miraculously be transported out when it hits the fan? No, we won’t. Just like the Hebrews, we will be taken care of by our covenant-keeping God. We live under the new covenant purchased by Jesus’ blood. A new and better covenant!
Last September, people were expecting something major to happen. It didn’t. This is the year of Jubilee and God does not bring any judgments in a Jubilee year. This blessing has given His people some time to prepare. Jubilee ends this September. We need to take a lesson from the ant. Store up now and prepare for a hard winter season. I don’t know when things are going to turn sour, but I do know that the prophets, the watchmen on the walls in Christendom are shouting the warnings. I’m choosing to listen and prepare.
I don’t know what the political winds will bring in November. It really doesn’t matter anymore. America is going to be judged for her evil ways because she refuses to repent. She has hardened her heart and stiffened her neck against the Most High God.
My declaration is this: I live in the land of Goshen! My life is in the palm of the Most High God’s hands and I know that though a thousand falls at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, it shall not come near me. As long as my allotted days are still in effect, I will continue to advance the kingdom of God, come what may. And when my days are up, I will see my Lord and Master Jesus Christ face to face. What a day of rejoicing that will be!
The land of Goshen is the place in God where His blessings reign supreme. Outside of Goshen the same perils that face a wicked nation will come to the ones who venture out there. Stay close to God. Return, you backsliders! Come to Jesus before it’s too late! Pursue the intimate relationship with Him like you never have before. He who dwells in the SECRET PLACE of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Find the secret place and stay there.
As people of God, let’s enjoy the times we are in because they won’t last too much longer. I wish I could believe that America will be great again, but I know in my heart she won’t. We are at the door of the Great Tribulation. The one world government is at our doorstep and the trumpet is about to blow for the overcomers of the Most High. Beloved, use this time wisely. Prepare your hearts, prepare your homes and prepare your families.
Stay strong believers….
