“Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, and on the way, He took the Twelve to one side and said to them, “Now we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man is about to be handed over to the chief priests and scribes. They will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the pagans to be mocked and scourged and crucified, and on the third day He will rise again.” (Matthew 20:17-19)
“It was now, about the sixth hour and, with the sun eclipsed, a darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour. The veil of the Temple was torn right down the middle; and when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit. With these words, He breathed His last.” (Luke 23:44-46)
“The Father loves Me because I lay down My life in order t take it up again. No one takes it from Me; I lay it down of My own free will, and so it is in My power to take it up again, and this is the command I have been given by My Father.” (John 10:17-18)
“But the angel spoke, and he said to the women, “There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, as He said He would. Come and see the place where He lay, then go quickly and tell His disciples, “He has risen from the dead and now He is going before you to Galilee; it is there you will see Him.” (Matthew 28:5-7)
There is one major difference between Elohim (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) and all the other gazillion gods vying for people’s devotion. That difference is that the Son came, lived a perfect life and died for all of the world’s sin. He died to make a path back to God the Father. Why? Because God LOVES you. If you were the only person who needed redemption and everyone else was ok, Jesus would have come and died just for YOU.
Other gods required sacrifices of death to appease their violent nature. Jesus Christ requires love in the face of hatred and death. Love is the driving force of the Kingdom of God. There is a very real shortage of love in the earth today. Everywhere you look its hate, hate, and more hate. But God is waiting to welcome YOU into His kingdom where His great love abounds. It fills us inside out so we can love others like He loves us.
Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords. He is King of kings. He rules, He reigns and He is coming back again because He said He would! He said He would rise again…He did. He said He is coming back…He will!
