The Ever Faithful One

This is a message I gave to our church yesterday.  I pray it ministers to your heart today.

Psalm 33:4 says “for the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness.”

The word ALL is key here.  There isn’t even the concept of faithlessness to God.  His very character is faithfulness.  If His Word says it, you can take it to the bank that He WILL do what His word says.

Psalm 37:3 says “Trust in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.”

What is “feeding” on His faithfulness mean?  When you dwell with Him and see His faithfulness from the past, it builds your faith that your present and future are secure in Him.

Psalm 91:4 says “Then He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.”

His faithfulness is the hallmark of His character and I believe it grieves His heart when His children don’t trust Him, even after He has shown Himself faithful time and time again.   His faithfulness is a defense for us!  Trusting His faithfulness drives out fear of the scary world we live in.

Lamentations 3:22-23 says “It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving kindness that we are not consumed, because His tender compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.”

Truly He is the Rock of our salvation.  We can rest assured that He is faithful to complete the work He has started in each one of us.

II Timothy 2:13 says “If we are faithless in our unbelief and are untrue to Him, He remains true and faithful to His Word and His righteous character, for He cannot deny Himself.”

It is impossible for God to be faithless!  If He had one second of unfaithfulness, He would be denying Himself.  He cannot do that.  How much more confidence then, should we have in His faithfulness to us when we encounter uncertain circumstances?

I Thessalonians 5:24 says “Faithful is He Who is calling you to Himself and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it.  He will fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you.”

What does “utterly” mean?  It means “completely, absolutely, 100 percent, to the core.  God is trustworthy at His very core.  What is “hallowing” mean?  It means to honor as holy, to make holy, consecrated, very respected and revered.  Wow.  He takes the wreck of our lives and hallows it and keeps us unto the day when we can see Him face to face.  Isn’t God good?

Jesus told us to “have faith in God”  or another translation says to “have THE faith of God.”  If you are a child of God, think back over the course of your life of the times when you know if hadn’t been for God, it would not have been a good ending.  He is faithful.  He cannot be anything other than faithful.  If you honestly believe that God is faithless, then you just don’t know Him or His character.  I challenge you to draw near to Him to get to know Him–for Him, not what He can do for you, but for Him.  You’ll be amazed when He flows the supernatural into your life.  I know I am standing here amazed at what He is doing since I have been pursuing an intimate relationship with Him.

Blessings everyone…
